A Brief Analysis of the Five Major Factors Causing Aging of Exterior Wall Insulation Materials

Nowadays, exterior wall insulation panels are commonly installed in the construction of high-rise buildings, serving both to provide thermal insulation and to protect the exterior wall, thereby extending the service life of brick and concrete materials used for the exterior cladding. However, over time, these exterior wall insulation materials inevitably undergo aging. What are the primary causes of this aging? Below is a brief overview, broadly categorized into five main aspects.

Construction Method for Polyurethane Composite Panels

Apply the polyurethane panels using the spot-and-bead method (see the figure below): Using a trowel, apply a 50-mm-wide bead of specialized polymer mortar around the perimeter of each Lianchuang polyurethane composite panel that has already been primed, gradually increasing the thickness from the edges toward the center to a maximum of 10 mm. Then, apply nine evenly spaced “plum-blossom” dots of mortar on the surface of the polyurethane composite panel, ensuring that the bonded area covers at least 40% of the panel’s surface.

[Technical Column]: Application of MDI in Waterborne Polyurethanes

With regard to waterborne polyurethanes, those synthesized using MDI and those synthesized using TDI exhibit substantial differences in mechanical properties. Generally speaking, polyurethanes derived from MDI display significantly superior mechanical performance—such as tensile strength, fracture strength, and overall mechanical integrity—as well as enhanced thermal stability and oil resistance, compared with their TDI-based counterparts. However, despite these advantages, the isocyanates predominantly employed in current waterborne polyurethane synthesis are TDI, IPDI, and similar compounds, with MDI being used only rarely; and even when MDI is utilized, it is typically blended with other isocyanates, such as TDI or IPDI. The fundamental reason for this preference lies in MDI’s extremely high reaction rate, which makes its reactivity difficult to control during synthesis and can readily lead to operational challenges that hinder the smooth progression of the polymerization process.

[Technical Column] Automotive Seat Foaming Technology: It’s Not Just About Softness—It’s Also About Cutting-Edge Engineering!

Whether driving or riding in a car, we spend most of our time seated on soft upholstery—leather or fabric—and yet we rarely stop to consider what lies beneath those seats and backrests. It’s as if we drink water without ever wondering where it comes from. Once curiosity is piqued, we can’t help but lift the “veil” and delve into the story behind the seat foam that delivers both comfort and support.

Several Notes on Rigid Polyurethane Foam Insulation Boards

During the production of polyurethane insulation boards, polyols and isocyanates undergo a chemical reaction that releases heat. Throughout the continuous laminating and shaping process in the manufacturing line, the temperature inside the rigid foam can reach approximately 160°C.

A Brief Discussion on the Advantages and Benefits of Polyurethane by a Polyurethane Cold Storage Panel Manufacturer

Polyurethane cold-storage panels use lightweight polyurethane as the core material, which offers excellent thermal insulation. The exterior of these panels is constructed from SII-coated steel sheets, PVC-colored steel sheets, and stainless steel sheets. This design effectively prevents heat transfer caused by significant temperature differences between the interior and exterior, thereby enhancing energy efficiency and improving the operational performance of the cold storage facility.
